Tonight I decided to throw together a section of the page for Options. You can find it on the menu on the left side of the page. When you go there you will get a list of all the options that are currently tracked by C8Tracker. If you click on any of the options, you will go to a simple page that shows how many cars per week have been built with that option for the last 6 months.
So how is this useful? Lately there has been some speculation that cars are getting held up at the factory if they have the Engine Appearance Package option. The idea is there is a lack of parts, so cars with that option have gone down the assembly line, but they are just sitting and waiting for that option to get installed before the car will be released and shipped to the dealer. So being able to see how many cars have been built with this option over the last 6 months gives us the ability to see if there has been a noticeable decrease in cars with that option leaving the factory. In the case of the Engine Appearance Package, the number of cars with that option leaving the factory appear to have basically fallen off of a cliff in the last few weeks, which points to a parts supply issue.
